1) What graphics are you expecting from Pac-Man? This isn't some new version like Super Mario Galaxy.

2) What touch controls do you suggest? All you need to do is go up, down, right, and left. This is hardly something needing the Super Monkey Ball treatment.

The only time I wasn't happy with a Namco game was the version of Ms Pac-Man for the iPod. That wasn't Namcos fault but the iPods horrible click wheel.

Silly post  It's a classic game and pretty much completely authentic to the original. That's what it is all about.
As for touch controls.. You touch the screen to control it! How much more touch do you want??

Unfortunately, the controls as they are now totally bite. I don't know how they could fix them, but you need much more precise controls than a fake d-pad or accelerometer tilting.

I also thought the controls sucked until I used the swipe option! I'm really enjoying the game now.

You can swipe anywhere on the screen in the direction you want to go and Pac Man will follow your command.

I would hate it if they updated the game. The allure to Pac Man is the original arcade feel. Similarly, there's nothing like a big red joystick to really enjoy Pac Man.

On iPhone, the swipe method does really well for a console without any physical buttons.

I love ms.pacman and I did not get it because of the on screen dpad. I'm going to try it now.

I just got back from an arcade show, http://caextreme.org/ , never really played the real old stuf, but after I had to check the iPhone for any classics.

Right now just these Pac-Mam games. But my god, $9.99 for each and they seem really really basic, like they threw them together.

I know, you want it to be as close to the original. But to me, looks like they adapted it to the resolution, which kind of makes it look cheap compared to classic. I would have like it to have been closer to original pixel resolution, more blocky. Is it me, or do the blue lines on Pac-Man look too thin? Like they were thicker in the original, due to the low-res CRTs.

At $9.99, I'd expect a few options, like to choose a board with some updated graphics, not 3D mind you, but something fresh. Or a CRT emulation mode, where it looks like you are playing on a low-res CRT like the original.

Don't know about the controls. Seems like with a virtual joystick, you could drag it around with your finger like the real thing, and letting go it would snap back.

Do these versions offer 2 player modes, where you switch back and forth?

Right now they should only charge $5 for these at the most, or a bundle at $10.
