iPod nano 7th gen went through washing machine for 10 minutes

As the title says, my ipod nano 7th generation went through the washing machine for around 10 minutes. After I start the machine, I realized that my ipod was missing. So I ran back, stopped the machine, and took out my ipod. When I first saw it, the display was on as if I had put it on hold before I put it in the machine (music paused but power still on). So I quickly turned it off right after I got it out. I have put my ipod in my cabinet with power off to let it dry naturally.

What do you guys think? I am kind of hopeful seeing that the ipod was working right after I got it out of the washing machine. Please let me know what to do.

The worst part is going to be the soap that might have been washed into it. If that dries inside the switches, it could be a show stopper.

I'd get some distilled water and try to rinse it out, then stick it in a bag of dry instant rice for a few days.

My mom washed her iPhone, and the only thing, aside from some water in the screen, was some of the buttons didn't work. I'm thinking it was soap contamination.

A while ago I put my 4th gen nano through a full wash cycle (caught up in my sheets). I left it in a tub of rice for a week and it's all good. My Senheisser earbuds survived the journey too. Only time will tell. Good luck.

I searched through, and it seems like the policy has changed since 2011. Instead of relying on the water damage indicator, if there is no evident show of water damage on the outside, Apple Store is mostly likely to get it refurbished with no extra charge as long as the warranty is still valid. Is that true? It's been less than a year since I got my nano.

The bar of rice worked like a champ for my daughter who let it slip in a full tub. It took 2'days to turn on and we thought it was wiped, but no, it came back fully working.

My iPhone was in a sink full of water for about 3 seconds. Afterwords, there was condensation in the camera and water spots on the screen. The spots on the screen faded away after a day, and i took the phone apart and cleaned out the camera housing. Its like it never happened. Except the LCI is red.
