Nano now or later?

What are the chances of Apple updating the iPod nano's before Christmas? I'm getting my girlfriend a 4gb one, and I'm thinking of just ordering it now while I have the money, but I wonder if I should just wait in case they come out with a 6gb version.

What do you guys think? Is a new nano before Christmas a real possibility or should I just get it now?

You're kidding. Right?

The odds are rather slim. Like closer to no chance of them being updated this year.

As for when to get it, I'd say pay attention to the leadtime on Apple's website. Add a week for shipping and another week or two in case things slip from excessive orders. All in all order it by November 15th to guarantee having it on time. And that's presuming the leadtime doesn't change.

I'd buy it a wee bit later though, to see what Apple does for those scratchy Nano casings..
