iPod nano radio - use with home stereo?

My receiver was damaged and the tuner no longer works - I need one. Knowing that the nano requires "headphones" for a radio signal, would a 1/8 stereo male to dual RCA cable suffice? Will it produce a fuzzy signal?

should work as the cable is the bit used as the arial. Signal quality wont be as great as a home stereo though I reckon, portable radios never are that good in my experience. Maybe a longer cable would help as that would basically be like having a bigger arial?

To answer my own question, and for anyone else looking to do this, it did not work for me. Thankfully I was able to return the nano.
