Hello everyone. In November I have a work trip from Italy, where I live, to the USA. I wanted to buy an iPhone 15. In Italy we have the nano SIM. Do you know if the American Apple stores also have versions with nano SIM as well as e-SIM?

No. iPhones sold in the US do not have physical SIM-slots anymore. eSIM should work in most places though. I'm in Sweden and every network here offers eSIM support in addition to physical cards.

Before buying your iPhone 15 check with all the telcos in the countries you intend to travel within the next 6 years if they all support prepaid eSIM.

I assume your US number is postpaid so you can set it as the primary eSIM.
