i just came to this forum to post the exact same question. When i saw apple boasting 'video' i wouldn't put it past them to not enable a way to capture a simple still frame from a video, cancel out the sound, and save it with a .jpg extension. I'm not gonna tell apple how to make their products.. but really?

They wouldn't be able to stop you from capturing a still frame from a video.

You could always take a screenshot of your paused video. Apple couldn't stop you from doing that.
