So got my new iPad Pro today at the Apple Store. Picked it up. Easy peasy. Opened it to install a screen protector, oils and dust and yuck all over the screen. Tried to wipe it off as best I could and was able to get it clean. Anyone else notice this? No scratches or damage I’ve just never seen this before from Apple. Thought they wear gloves at the assembly plant?

Mine was perfect. They do wear gloves or are supposed to. I guess it could of been someone that did a last minute QC check etc and didnt clean the screen off the display. Just for giggles type in your SN in the Apple SN checker to make sure its a legit 5th Gen iPad Pro and someone at the plant do the old switch around and gave you a 4th gen iPad.

Top left corner of my new iPad Pro 11” screen has a slight gap and some glue around the chassis there.

Do you have photos??
Yes, if you look at this top left section of the iPad, you can see adhesive coming out, and I can't tell if the glass is flush with the frame.

I’m wondering if it’s just excess adhesive that I don’t need to worry about. It’s hard to eyeball the gap between the touchscreen and the frame and know if what I’m seeing is indicative of a fit issue or not.

Has anyone seen anything like this and have a suggestion? I have AppleCare+ but I almost hate to ring up Apple on something like this because replacements are kind of painful.

I swapped my 12.9 a couple times and one of the replacements had some smudges on the screen. Tiny smudge on another 12.9. Not too concerning to me if you can wipe it off without a trace

Luck of the draw I guess, first iPad which went back because the space grey coating on the back wasn’t applied properly, had a filthy screen just like the OP.

Brand new replacement screen was spotless.

Guess when you’re pumping out millions of these things, some are going to skip the quality control check line.
