Great but what's the point on a less than 4k display? You're not seeing it in 8K.....or even 4k for that matter.

The video is higher quality because YouTube nuke less detail and color data. Everyone knows down scaled 4k/8k YouTube videos look better even on screens below the video's resolution.

4k YouTube videos on my iPad look noticeably better than 1440p/1080p YouTube videos.

I love how YouTube thinks it is okay to use up my bandwidth this way…
