I use an icloud account with the native apple app on yosemite. All my emails are delivered first on my iPhone. I set the preferences to check every 1 minute but most of the times the email refresh takes longer and today it stopped syncing with my iOS native email app... it synced after i quit and reopened the email app on mac.... do i have to change anything on settings because the app is totally ridiculous!!!!!!!

Sorry, what is the problem? That emails arrive on your phone first? By how long?

This happens to some degree on my Airmail, Outlook for Mac 2011 and Mail. TBH the delay is seldom longer than 1-2mins so I usually have something more important to worry about.

I think you may have caused the sync issue by setting the period to 1min, if the refresh itself takes longer due to mail volume or connection speed then you can hang stuff up and create a worse problem.

Talk about First World Problems!

I'm also failing to see the problem? It's doing what it's supposed to do, syncing. It's not going to be absolutely instantaneous, if whatever you're doing requiers that you get whatever info you're apparently so angry about not getting within a minute from it being sent, then don't use e-mail.

Sounds like it stopped syncing with your phone for a short moment and you're getting angry because you had to push a button twice to get it running again. Boohoo.

Um... yeah, email isn't instantaneous. I use my own domain with Entourage and also have it programmed into my BlackBerry. My BlackBerry often picks up the mail first but Entourage is never too far behind, a couple of minutes at most. Occasionally, it occurs the other way round.

Talk about a first world problem.

Must be nice to buy an entirely new computer and new versions of all your software simply because one app (that you can easily replace with another) doesn't perform to your expectations.

You use a BlackBerry and Entourage?

I use Airmail on Mac and it has a 1-2 minute delay on emails that my iPhone gets first. I guess push notifications only work on iPhone?

The 1 minute internal check is the problem! Most older email servers can only except 5 minutes checks, especially POP servers!

Wow, every minute? Why?

I think that was the OP trying to "fix" the arrival delay by getting the Mail app to check more often...risky as it is quite possible to upset the server that way, especially if the mail sync takes longer than 60secs...

TBH this is only an issue if sat at the desktop with phone nearby, personally I check the phone if I'm not busy, and just decide whether the incoming email is time-critical and either then jump on it when the email arrives at the desktop (2-3mins tops later), or not....

Exactly.... nevermind.... i will return it back to check automatically....

I use a Blackberry & OSX, yes I receive the mails first in the Blackberry, so, what's the problem?.

I put a sound notification in my BB and that helps, after a 30 seconds I read the mail in the mac.

No big issue :)
