I wasn't sure if I should put this in the app store forum, or iPhone forum, so forgive me if I'm in the wrong spot.

Quick question. Has anyone ever experienced an issue with playback on their iPhone of music, podcasts etc. when running Navigon? I've got an iPhone 3G, and for some reason, started fairly recently, whenever I have Navigon running, and attempt to playback anything on the iPhone's iPod, I get random skipping, fast forwarding and even start and stop of playback.

I've reinstalled Navigon, and even wiped and restored my phone. (From scratch, not doing an actual "restore"). The problem however persists, and appears to only be happening when Navigon is running.

Thought or comments welcome as it's driving me nuts now.

I use this functionality quite a bit but haven't run into this particular issue. I don't listen to podcasts, but rather it's always music for me. Sometimes I control the music using the interface within Navigon, but sometimes I use my Kensington remote control, having selected my music before I start using the app. I have a 3GS.

I've noticed this recently as well on my 3G. I think it has to do with the decreased internals of the 3G vs. the 3Gs, and that Navigon is optimizing the app for the 3Gs, and not the 3G.

I had the same issue on my iPhone 3G. Upgraded to a 3GS and Navigon is 100x faster, world of difference, no lag at all.

Essentially overloading the iPhone 3G when you run Navigon, even though it is doable. Re-routes faster on a 3Gs and everything.

I was having problems too right after updating Navigon to use TTS. When I turned TTS off, no more skipping.

Thanks for the replies on this. Looks like, while not a common issue, maybe is something that can crop up. Since posting this, a guy I work with who has a 3GS, purchased and installed Navigon. He does not seem to have the issue, and I'm surprised at how much quicker the app works on that phone. (It's actually quite laggy on mine, long load times etc).

Kind of frustrating, as I have no intentions of upgrading to a 3GS at this time, and I'm quite happy with Navigon otherwise.

Thanks again!

I noticed this as well, the problem is, the whole reason I purchased Navigon was for TTS. I had owned Tomtom, and returned it to purchase Navigon for this sole reason. (Well, I do like the interface on Navigon better also).
