I don't use a GPS on a daily basis. Probably my biggest need is for finding soccer fields. There are other, more common uses that I'm sure either would do an adequate job of, but I'm having a very hard time trying to get a feel for how I can might either replicate or have an good alternate method when finding fields.
I currently have a stand alone Garmin Nuvi 760 (would go to the wife when I get a GPS app). Since many times our soccer schedules don't have addresses listed, I'll normally use maps.google.com from my laptop to find the soccer complex and use the "Send to GPS" function, plugging the Garmin in via USB where it's added to my favorites.
I'm very interested to hear how something like this might work with either the Navigon or TomTom app for the iPhone. I'm assuming I can't use the "Send to" from Google maps from the laptop but can I drop a pin on the iPhone Maps program and cut & paste that address easily right into either of the GPS apps? Is it easy to use the maps included within the GPS to find a field and drop a pin on the open map (remember, sometimes these places don't really have listed addresses) and create a route to this location?
Thanks in advance for any help. This is the deal breaker for me. If I can't find fields, I'll have to stick with my Nuvi (and have to buy a second stand alone device for my wife).
