I did a 1-year in-app purchase of Navigon's Traffic Live feature in March.

Recently, I got an iPhone 4, and restored from my 3G's backup. the Traffic Live feature is not activated on the new phone, and it shows it as an option that is available to purchase.

Is there a generic way to deal with this? Or am I going to have to deal with tech support for each app? Navigon doesn't even have any kind of FAQ or forum. Contact Apple support?

I have other apps with in-app purchases that didn't transfer as well.

You have to go to the extras menu and press the giant Restore Purchases button. Since when was live traffic a yearly subscription? As far as I know it's a one-time purchase.

Answering my own question: just "purchase" the in-app feature again. As long as you are doing it on the same iTunes account, you will get a message saying you've already purchased it, and you can download it for free.

However, this is very confusing, because that message is the VERY LAST message you get! That is, after you've ALREADY approved the purchase for $19.99 and given your iTunes password.

Just for future reference, that happens with any app you've previously bought. I've done it multiple times while out and about. :)

Sorry, yes, you are right - it is still a one-time purchase.

But there's no longer a "big red restore purchases button". It just shows the three available options (I have My Region West, so in addition to Traffic Live, it shows USA Central and USA East).

It will normally show purchased options with a green check-mark. But if you've moved to a different phone, it will show the price instead.

Can someone confirm for me. I believe I bought it on 11-12-09 for $19.99. The description is D09050034, Navigon. Is this for sure traffic info since it now lists for $24.99 and there is no way to tell without hitting the buy/$24.99 button?

Well that sucks...I used the restore purchases button when I got my iphone 4 with very little hassle. From the 1.6 release thread is showing there are mixed results for extras coming back as purchased.

As far as the receipt number, I can't look mine up right now, sorry. :(

Just a little pointer navigons traffic add in isn't a yearly subscription.

Could anyone please look at your iTunes email receipt and see if this is Traffic info?

Yeah, my receipt looks exactly like that one. The only problem is that if that line item is indeed the traffic addon, I cannot find the actual receipt for the app. Which is leading me to believe that the $24.99 is for the Navigon app itself, and I purchased the traffic from Navigon directly. I never delete copies of my receipts from itunes.

Can someone please advise whether or not the above-pictured receipt is the traffic add-on? I don't want to risk purchasing it again by accident.

Yes it is. I just took a chance (since no one answered) and it was already paid, so the receipt is showing that I had paid for in traffic.
