NBA Offseason Discussion

It's been an interesting offseason so far. Jimmy Butler to the T-Wolves, Paul George to OKC, etc.

So why not, here's our discussion thread. Enjoy!

And a question to get the discussion started: Any predictions on offseason moves for the Cavaliers? They clearly need to improve if they want to have over a 10% chance of beating GS next year. What should they do and what will they likely do? Signing Jeff Green was nice, but not enough to compete with GS...

EDIT: The biggest topics for discussion:
-Chris Paul to the Rockets
-Jimmy Butler to the Timerwolves
-Paul George to OKC
-Kyrie Irving to Boston
-The new Boston Celtics. Only 4 players left from last years roster.
-Melo to OKC.

Everyone is screwed for at least a few years. The Warriors got better also. I like what the Heat did. A sensibly constructed roster with players on the rise. Contracts are all tradeable assets in two years. Wait out the Warriors.

Although the Rockets did a decent job, I still don't see how CP and Harden work together. The T-Wolves were easier to like before they gave up Rubio, but Butler was a steal for that team.

Cleveland should be the number one seed in the pathetic east, but after that, it will be very interesting.

Yeah, I get that, but I also think it's fun to predict what happens. It'll also be really interesting to see the Cavs without LeBron. They'll still have the talent to be a team who makes the playoffs every year, but they'll need to re-do their whole offensive system... because usually they just fall apart without LeBron.

Are you that sure he is gone?
 
This might be a bit off-topic, but one nice addition to the team will be Edy Tavares, a project Center they signed last year. He's still a project, but he can come off the bench in some games (not just the blowout ones). And hen he's ready to start, he'll be a great addition, as one thing the Cavs really need is a REAL Center.

Plus, he was the D-Leauge Defensive Player of the Year!

Well if we are touting other leagues. Check out the Bam Adebayo highlights in Summer League play. I already love this guy.
 
It's difficult to place too much importance on any one player and presume their abilities will be able to drag or rather pull the team ahead of their rivals. That said, I'm yes-no, leaning on no. I'm not as heavily invested in the NBA as I used to be, but the old guard of teams have changed. Teams I never thought would succeed a decade ago are going up. We're seeing some amazing young talent and even old talent really improving each year. It's magical.
