Recently, Google released “Nearby Share Beta for Windows, an app that helps you share files between Android devices and Windows PCs”.

Someone made a version for macOS
"NearDrop is a partial implementation of Google's Nearby Share for macOS.
The app lives in your menu bar and saves files to your downloads folder. It's that simple, really."

Google:
Mar 31, 2023 "Share files easily between Android devices and Windows PCs"

"The New Nearby Share Beta App for Windows"

Aug 04, 2020 "Instantly share files with people around you with Nearby Share"

I have made changes for this app, but author doesn't want them, so I have forked repo here

The difference is that you can switch between notification and popup alert, automatically open safe files, accept text and URL in a way Android is accepting these types of data.
For example, URL will open popup with ability to Open/Copy and for text you can Copy or Save to file
