Well, Gang,
This is just some notice; the other thread asking about the Samsung F2380 (PVA panel) is now obsolete:
https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/771818/
How did that happen, in such a short time?
Easy! I pre-ordered an NEC EA231WMi from B& H Photo.
Yes, I'm going on blind faith and the, on paper, specs and features.
Some may remember, from the 2009 Mac Mini WiFi Modification posting on this website, that, as an anti-Statist, I preferred J & R Music as a (non-State taxed) source, and I still do. But, similarly, B & H Photo is the out-of-State source for this NEC monitor, currently.
Yes, they don't actually have them, yet. And, nonetheless, I've pre-ordered one via Money Order and Snail Mail, in a typical non-Luddite and anti-Statist way.
Why would I do that?
Well, it's a 23", IPS panel (versus TN), for $379, plus shipping. I'm using an IPS panel now; a Dell 2005WPS, which was priced similarly, about four years ago.
The NEC has DisplayPort (HDCP), DVI (HDCP), DVA, down-firing speakers, USB ports, and a purported 5 ms seek time, etc. Need I say more!
So, I'll connect the 2009 Mini via DisplayPort, and, maybe later, use an adapter and cable to the mini-DVI port to connect to an HDMI Blu-Ray player.
The planets are in alignment!
Peace to you all,
C. Livingstone
Oops: the model is actually an EA231"W"Mi
