Need 1TB SSD on a PCI Card from Amazon

Hello.

Can someone recommend me a new 1TB SSD and a PCI card for it, available from Amazon?

Non bootable is fine.
Not crazy expensive.

Looking for storage drive for Mac App Store content caching and so looking for something speedy.
 
The Lycom DT-120 I linked is a basic/generic/cheap adapter that will work fine. You can get fancier adapters with heatsinks or even fancier adapters that can RAID multiple SSDs together and have more PCIe lanes that get you even faster speeds, but in terms of "not crazy expensive" I think the combo I linked is the way to go.

I believe the Sedna adapter is the same as the Apricorn Velocity Solo X1. This controller changed with the Solo X2 and Duo X2. Unfortunately, neither of those are currently available.

Personally would say get the OWC Accelsior S over this, but only posting in case budget is really an issue.

Samsung 1TB SATA SSDs are around $200 right now, but if you monitor the prices you can sometimes get them cheaper:

Crucial MX500 1TB is $183 right now if budget is an issue.

You will get faster speeds with non-SATA SSDs, but two drawbacks - higher price and lack of immediate flexibility to throw into one of the 4 drive bays IF ever quickly needed. That added flexibility meant a lot for my needs, which is why I have the Velocity Solo X2 for boot drive SSD right now.

Beyond that, you'll get into what size files you're mostly working with to see what speed difference. If you're on a tight budget, none of that matters.

As @bsbeamer cited, Samsung is at a good price right now. In the USA, anyway, it's a holiday weekend, and the are sales.

Unfortunately, the Samsung 970Pro is not on saie. FWIW.. Amazon raised the price on Friday for the 512GB 970pro.

Micro center had an in-store deal on the 760p 512 for $124. That was the only deal worth considering, unfortunately there are no micro centers in WA.
