Hello,

I am trying to find the part numbers for the gray Install and Application DVDs that were originally shipped with the following models of Mid 2010 21.5" iMacs:

1. 3.06GHz Core i3 - MC508LL/A - A1311

2. 3.2GHz Core i3 - MC509LL/A - A1311

3. 3.6GHz Core i5

The number is printed on the DVD and looks something like this:

2Z691-6638-A

I'd like to do an erase and clean install to Snow Leopard to all three. I've looked everywhere with no luck. If anyone has these models and has the correct DVDs, would you share the part numbers? Or is there a resource online that shows the numbers that someone can connect me with?

Thank you so much for any help in advance!

Thanks for the suggestion - it doesn't specifically say which iMac the DVDs listed are for. It's my understanding that each model came with a specific set of DVDs but they're not labeled. I looked up every one I could find on eBay and searched for the numbers with no luck. I did find a link to what I'm looking for on an old iFixit thread but the link is gone. I'm really hoping someone has these machines and can check the DVDs for the numbers.

It can’t hurt to try that disk image.

10.6.4 was the current OS which shipped (and whose updates on Software Update was current) when the mid-2010 iMacs went on sale in late July 2010 (10.6.5 didn’t arrive until November 2010).

This DVD clearly denotes it’s the grey install disc for 2010 iMacs and has a 10.6.4 build. I think this is exactly what your mid-2010 needs.

You are correct.

From from I've found during a web search, the version number listed for the install disk on MR corresponds with those which are compatible with the Mid 2010 iMac A1311 21.5" model.

It can’t hurt to try that disk image.

Indeed. Although the Applications Install DVD is available from the Internet Archive - which lessens the OP's reliance on MR for at least one of the downloads. :)

Perhaps they might not need MR at all... According to the comments posted, this version of 10.6.4 is compatible with mid 2010 iMacs.

Thank you all for all of the help! The part numbers for the i5 model are 2Z691-6721-A and 2Z691-6722-A in case anyone else needs that information!
