I have been reading around and I keep seeing different things on different sites. I was just curious... is the next pro laptop going to be called the MacBook Pro again or will it be called the PowerBook? I'm really confused because I keep seeing PowerBook G5 in different places and I dont know what that is. Is that an older model of the MacBook Pro, or soemthing that is going to be released which will replace the MacBook Pro?

Thanks for the info, i'm definitely a Mac newb... looking froward to my first purchase when leopard comes out!

There never was and never will be a PowerBook G5 - it has been deemed by Apple impossible because of heat and lack of performance.

Someone said PowerBook G5 instead of G4 on accident (or purpose?) in an eBay listing.

The MacBook Pro is here for a while.

Ahh, thats what I thought because I think remember friends having PowerBooks a while back. I wouldn't think they would bring back an old name. Who knows.

Thanks for the clarification!
