I write my own pages in html and upload them to a remote server. I do not use WYSIWYG editors. I was using Komodo Edit for a couple of years, but it does not work well with Catalina 10.15.7. I switched to Brackets, which I do not like as well. Does anyone have a suggestion for a easy to use editor for Catalina?

If all you want is a text editor that offers syntax coloring of HTML elements, you could go with CotEditor as well (free). If you don't even care for text coloring, why not just stick with the plain-vanilla macOS TextEdit in plain text mode, and do your FTP file transfers with Finder (assuming it works)?

Your choice of editor will also be determined by whether you want to use code snippets, HTML preview, FTP and so on. Maybe "nice to have" things for many Web developers and coders, but again your needs may vary.

Espresso is still out there, and available on Setapp for a modest subscription price. That's not a bad package, even though the UI isn't for everyone.

On the higher end, I've used Dreamweaver for many years (and it works great on 10.15.7). DW is fine to use in standard code view—no WYSIWYG required. That will cost you a subscription, however. It does have some advantages like code auto-complete, built-in FTP and site management support and so on. I'm sure other members might rat on it, but it is a pretty comprehensive package that's been refined over the years to pretty much cover the basics that most Web developers (particularly front-end) need.

I need a wysiwyg html editor compatible with Catalina. I was using Kompozer but it will not longer work with Catalina.

I am using Adobe Dreamweaver on Catalina and it works great. However, it is not free like the ones suggested above.
