I accidentally erased my dockable iPod icon and I would really like to get it back. I just need someone to email me an empty folder with the iPod icon pasted over the default folder icon. You can send it to SNIP!.

Thanks a million. :)

In case you don't know how to do this, here's instructions for copying/changing icons. Control-click/right-click on the iPod on your desktop and select "Get Info." Then click on the small icon that is shown at the top of the Get Info window and copy it (in the menu: Edit > Copy). Then make a new folder and open its Get Info window (using the same procedure). Click on the little icon at the top of the window and then paste the iPod icon to it (in the menu: Edit > Paste).

(Note: For those who are familiar with working with icons, I have already tried to cut the new icon in order to restore the old one. Unfortunately, what gets restored is not the iPod icon but the generic removable media icon. :( )

Edit: Removed email address

you guys have dockable iPod icons? i've NEVER seen it! and yes, i own a dockable iPod... from the first time i plugged it in, all i've seen is the old-school spinwheel iPod icon. what gives?

You don't get an icon like this one?

By the way Robbie (and for the benefit of anyone who may someday bring this thread up in a search), restoring the iPod using the iPod Updater worked like a charm. I got my icon back.

(For those who don't know, emailing a folder with the icon didn't work for some reason.)

Sonofslim, maybe you should try restoring your iPod. Are you the original owner of your iPod? Maybe the previous owner messed with it. Or are you still using Jaguar? That might be why too. I don't know.
