the ability to merge midi data/tracks ( merge tracks which have the same software instrument)
has to be included in any upgrade. You may have a good loop or a midi track but need to add
data to it. e.g. a drum track needs an extra rim shot or crash or tambourine added to original loop or track. HOw does one do this without using up another track/s. You could end up with 5 drum tracks all
with the same software kit each with different instruments.

drum tracks are vacant boring and lifeless without adding rolls fills etc to it.

INFLEXIBILITY WITH the tracks is one of the biggest problems with GB and is starting to limit my use of it. RECORDING to the tracks after a mistake is made is time consuming and cumbersome. The track will not add data to it.
copying a source tracks data erases the merged to, destination track.
punching in or out is impossible.
This could be the end of GB for me until they put these features in .

I got sort of frustrated with that too. I figured out how to add drum hits to a software drum loop by copying a similar drum loop, selecting them both and joining selected. You have to join them so you can then grab notes from that extra part of the loop and dragging them over to where they need to be in the original loop, and then getting rid of the extra part of the loop so you're back to the original loop. It's pretty time consuming.

I actually have resorted to working out the rhythm track and saving that as a seperate file, bouncing the rhythm tracks to iTunes and then dragging that file back into GB. If there's a mistake I can always go back to the original rhythm file and fix it there, and bounce it again. For a multi-tracker that costs $49, it works pretty good.

merging

could you kindly explain the merging of software tracks a bit more
clearly.
If i have a drum kit like jazz kit playing the midi drum loop on track one
and i use track two to add drum hits of course with jazz kit thus now have
2 midi tracks , how do you merge those two?
Please be concrete and explain each step using my track one and two as the example.
HOw can i combine the two to get one track with all the data in the right places

forever grateful to you

thanks
