I have a Mac OS X 10.3,9 and would like recommendations for a laser or optical mouse. Also, which cordless keyboard would you recommend?

I have two Logitech optical mice for my computers. They work great and only cost around $20 each.

Go with the Apple bluetooth keyboard. I bought one for my mom and she likes it very much.

Razer Pro

After going through a number of Kensington mice, as well as the Mighty Mouse, the one I use is the Razer Pro V1.6 with matching ProPad. It comes from a company that specializes in gaming mice, where precision means the difference between life and death (digitally, anyways). Very sensitive, very precise, and it's so good that using other mice now feels like I'm sloshing through molasses. Also makes me a better Halo player to boot! :D

I use the Razer Pro 1.6 as well. Great mouse, but the drivers don't work with my Intel iMac. Supposedly they're working on it however. Luckily all the buttons were configured automatically when I plugged it in so I haven't really had a need for the drivers.

I find the Kensingtion PocketMouse Max Glow pretty good, nice enough design and it was just a case of plug and play for it to work.

There is actually a BT keyboard and mouse from Logitech it's black. It's quite nice, the whole design is awesome. But I highly recommend the BT apple keyboard for style and the mxlaser 1000 for performance. Never buy a cordless mouse that doesn't have rechargable batteries.

OS X compatible laser mouse

There are many laser mice available but only a few are compatible with OS X. I personally prefer a wired mouse rather than a wireless one. I am presently in India and logitech MX 1000 costs around 110 US Dollars, please advice.

logitech mx 1000. I really, really like it. would not consider anything else. I recharge it once every two weeks.

Does the mouse battery charger need to be plugged into an a/c supply, the question might sound stupid but I am in India and it's 230V AC @ 50 hz here, compared to 110V AC @ 60 hz in US or Canada.

You can get on their website and get Mac drivers for the mouse. I happened on the mouse and pad at the very last MacWorld Boston conference last year, where they were demoing the set. One cool thing is that they come in a carrying case so you can bring it to LAN parties, guess kind of like a holster for your gun or something of that nature.

are there any bluetooth mice that do not require a wired reciever (like the logitechs)? i'd like to get a BT mouth that doesn't any more clutter to my desk. (the apple one is ideal in that it doesn't need anything else, but i need more than one button.)

I have a Logitech MX510. It works fine and it was fairly cheap. It's your standard wired optical mouse, not too small, and the buttons are programable. I prefer that my mouses have balls, but you can't really buy those anymore, so this isn't a bad substitute.

I use the Macally BT Mouse Jr. and it works fine. With rechargeable batteries I can go for a week or two, so I just rotate through two sets. No clutter, clickable scroll whell, nice silver case like my Pbook. I give it a vote. The only thing I wish it had was built-in rechargeability (is this even a word?). Syncing, etc. has never been a problem. Hope it helps.

No comment  (Mouses = mice)

Mx900

I just bought an MX900 off of ebay. Those things aren't very portable. But, I intend to use it mainly in my "docked" setup. I don't think that Logitech is making them any more though.

same as europe........

i use a mighty mouse, and despite the bluetooth keyboard, i'm more than happy with it. it takes a day or two to get used to but really is brilliant.

plus, if you're left handed, like myself, you'll HATE most logitech mice...

Thank for the advice, Mighty Mouse was my choice but I heard so many good things about laser mouse, accuracy, not jumping to a corner. Thought laser mouse would be a good buy. Thanks again would buy mighty mouse if there isn't any laser mouse available.
