I recently picked up an 2016 mid iMac 27", 3.2 i5, 8gb ram, 1tb fusion, M390 2gb. Got a good deal on the iMac which is basically brand new. I recently had a 2016 15" mbp with the 455 dgpu/2016 13" i7 16gb 512 ssd both pared with my LG 5k display. I use my laptop mainly for work and it was my only machines. Sold both those and trying to decide which route to go. I was debating on the new 2017 15" with the 4gb GPU but found a deal on the 2016 13" mbptb 8gb 256 & 2015 iMac stated above. The price together is a little more than a new maxed 15" mbptb so I opted this route and will use my 5k display at work to dock.

Question is now, should I pay $400 more to get the new 2017 iMac base? Or since I have the LG 5k just go with the 15" mbp? I don't do too much that requires a lot of power, but rather would like to have the option to do any work I need to do. I occasionally game and with the bug with battle.net, the 13" 5k display made it impossible. Just trying to see if the iMac is that much faster than the 15". If not maybe I should just get the 15" instead of 13" + iMac.

Thoughts?
