Need Advice - animated gifs

I need some advice from anyone who has a Mac program that can be used to make simple animated gif files. I like to make signature tags and I use ImageReady right now, which is great, but I'm looking for something similar to the Paint Shop Pro program for the PC--something more novice friendly and with lots of ways to animate non-animated jpeg files and turn them into animated gifs. I also want to learn how to use animated alphas (which I have) and create names with them also. I'm sure I can do it in PhotoShop and/or ImageReady, but there's so much to learn there and I'm too old to learn that much I think. Anyone know of anything?

Yep, I was going to suggest GIFfun as well. I've found it'll do what you need it to without any hassles.

Thanks Janey and Max A. I'll check it out. Will it allow me to manipulate an image so as to create separate frames that I can then put together to create an animation or allow me to add things like glitter?
