Since it's my last year as a student (finally!!), I thought it would be a good idea to use the educational store to save some money and finally make the switch to mac.

I've been looking into the 24" IMac and I have a question.

I want the 8800 since I plan on playing WoW and D3(when it comes out someday). But should I go with the 2.8 ghz and use the money I saved on more RAM or should I go with the 3.06 ghz.
I'm asking this since I won't have enough money to buy more RAM if I get the 3.06 ghz.

The HD space isn't a problem since I've never came close to using half of my 180 GB HD on my laptop.

Thanks

i think your better off getting the processor speed, ram can be upgraded at a later date, but the processor cant (without difficulty anyway).

Always get the faster processor. Memory can always be added later, but faster processors are very difficult to upgrade. Plus, NEVER buy additional RAM from Apple, they charge 3 times the market rate, mainly because they are not in the memory business.

If you don't need the HD space, then pick the 2.8 ghz model but get it BTOd w/ the3 ghz processor and 8800. It'll be cheaper than the stock 3 ghz, because of the smaller HDD.

and yes, don't buy ram from apple. I recommend crucial or macsales
