need advice on editing this photo

Hi,

I'm editing this photo and came across some 'silvering'..or at least what I think is silvering on this photo (even though it's blue?).

I'm an intermediate editor imho (not the best, not the worst) I've tried a channel mix layer, but i can't seem to eliminate this blue. I know I can probably clone most of it out, but wondering if there is an easier way.

Any help would be appreciated

Hey there,

The easiest way to do this would be to:

1) Select the general area with a marquee tool.

2) Image > Adjust > Replace Color.

3) Select the blue color you want to get rid of.

4) Change the hue, saturation, and lightness to match the trees.

5) Adjust the fuzziness until it looks right.

Here's what I threw together really quick. I also adjusted the color balance since there were a lot of reds coming through.

Thanks for helping me out. It worked and the result looks almost like yours.

I knew it had to something right in front of me. I've been taking online tutorials and reading "Photoshop Restoration & retouching by Katrin Eismann", but some things aren't covered obviously.

I think I see a resemblance with Mr. front and center...

The white shirts do still have a bit of yellow to them. A quick way to solve problems like that (where you have a CLEAR white in the photo AKA the shirts) is to open levels, and select the eyedropper for an absolute white. Click on of the shirts and it usually does a decent job of fixing thing.

The left has no correction. The right has the correction. Its a little HARD to notice however. In the top right I created a swatch of the shirt before (left), and after (right).
