Need advice on overhauling my Mac Mini

Hi all:

I bought my mac mini back in January of 2008 and I love it. It is a great desktop machine for me. About 5 months after gettign it, my superdrive failed. It jsut wouldn't accept discs anymore.. like the motor was broken or something. I had an external DVDR drive that I plugged in. I got lazy and let my applecare lapse before getting it fixed. No worries, I can always get around to replacing it at some point.

That point is now. I was thinking that while i'm in there I might as well upgrade my RAM, and even my HD. I've searched on this site to find guides, but my search skills must suck because I'm either turning up way too many results or none at all.

Can you point me in the right direction to find:
a. what parts I need to upgrade the superdrive, RAM, and HD
b. any guide that shows how to do any of this
c. any words of wisdom

I just upgraded the RAM on mine last night.

I'm a collector and hate to scratch the case. I remember somewhere that a Pizza Cutter, instead of a Putty Knife, is easier and won't scratch the case as easily.

True! I was able to open the case with one without a scratch.
