Hello.

I need to sell a iMac to get a MBP. I can just do ebay but hate the idea of the fees. Its a new model that I ordered back in December.

i3 3.0 500bg hd 4 gig 21.5 " 4670 256

The keyboard and magic mouse where never used. Box and everything

Any advice on a site for selling would be appreciated. Or am I better off with ebay. Are there Mac trading boards?

Thanks

Craigslist? lol. That's where I sell all of my stuff, and you can usually get the same amount you paid for. Be sure to include high resolution pictures, full specs, and brag about it's performance. Ignore spam e-mails, and accept cash only.

Be prepared to be lowballed on craigslist. They will lowball you so hard they'll have you second guessing your asking price. Be strong.

For a big item like that though I would try to deal on craigslist and get a local buyer. I hate shipping things that are big, fragile, and valuable. The iMac is all three.

Yea craigslist will be your best bet, although like the poster above said be prepared for low-ballers. I just sold my MBP on there yesterday, the key is to just be patient and make sure you agree on a price before meeting or else it could be a huge waste of time.

For prices, check out http://www.mac2sell.net/. I sold mine on Craigslist, and as long as you deal with local people, cash only (someone tried to pay me $900 in tattoos for my old iMac, ha), you should be fine. Having the factory boxes seems to help attract people as well, but I don't know why.
