All I need a Mac for is to program xcode and learn to program iphone apps. What am I looking at price wise? Basicly does anyone know any good refurbishered mac dealers OR a good ebay place or online store to find one. It can be laptop or desktop I don't care as long as the price is right and I can program for iphone on it.

works great. You will need a monitor, keyboard, mouse and speakers to go with it though.

if you want it to be really cheap, you can get an older mac mini from ebay or something. though I has to be intel-based (no ppc mac!) and you should make sure it has at least 2GB of RAM.
as for monitor and stuff, never buy the things from apple, way too expensive and not worth it (especially mouse and keyboard). getting a good mouse and keyboard isn't really expensive, I would invest a little in the monitor though, because otherwise you just damage your eyes and get tired from staring in it.

I usually recommend a Mac mini, which is what I used, until the new 13" Macbook Pro came out, to create my app. The mini is also hooked up to my 42" flat screen, so it serves a dual role as a media center in addition to app development.
However, given the price of the non-Pro Macbook 13", and an Education discount ($100 off), and free iPod touch for college students/faculty. Assuming you qualify, that might be a good combination. About $950 and you get a $200 iPod touch which would be helpful for development, plus it's portable and no need to add a monitor, etc. Look into it. If you go to store.apple.com, and click on Education, they don't seem to be as strict as if you go to the store, which I did. I had to login to my wife's (college professor) email account as proof.

I use a Santa Rosa MacBook, but I'm switching to a Mac Mini (partly because I want to play Bioshock at some point).
If it's just about app development, the previous gen will do. I assume you already have a monitor...etc. You don't need a powerhouse machine. In fact, you could probably hack an AppleTV in to a good dev box.
