Need an app that can find a list of files

I have a frequent situation where I'll need to find, say, a few dozen specific files out of a folder of a thousand or so. I'll have a list of the filenames, and I'd like to be able to paste that list into an app, tell it where to look, and then tell it where to copy those particular files to. Does anyone know if such a thing exists?
