I have wanted to move on from my crappy Zune for years, but I don't know what iPod to buy. I want the classic because it has a lot of space, but for how expensive it is I might as well buy a damn touch. Do you think the price will fall soon? Should I buy the touch or the classic?

I was thinking the same thing... I've owned both in the past but got rid of them when I got an iPhone. I like the classic but I don't know how long it will be around or if it will be outdated. I also want to know if they are making a new version of the classic soon. I wish it had Bluetooth like the touch, but the touch is more expensive.

Depends on your priorities.

Classic gives you a lot of space, but has to be synced thru a computer.

The touch lets you play games, surf the web, get content independent of a computer sync, and basically does most everything a smart phone does with the exception of phone calls.

I own a classic because I have a very large library. I have 300 something audiobooks. No one device could hold them all. I had a few on my phone, a few on my kindles, a few on my iPod nanos, and more on my iPad. But there were still many times when I wanted to listen to something and would need to remove something and wait 30 minutes or so to download the book I wanted. It got to be a real hassle and waiste of my time.

I couldn't be happier with my classic. I have had 3 iPod touches and sold them. They aren't for me. If I want to play games, I have my vita. If I want to surf, I have my iPad. If I want to listen to music, I have my nanos (and now a classic). Whatever I would use a touch for, I already own something that does it better.

Even though the Touch is about as expensive as the Classic, you'll still get more storage for the same price. From what you've said, it doesn't seem like you'd want any of the features of iOS. I suggest maybe buying a refurbished Classic from the Apple store; you'll still get the warranty, but for a cheaper price. If you don't need a warranty, you should look on eBay for a high-capacity iPod Classic, you'll probably get a really good deal on it.

I have purchased several used iPods from Game Stop. I trust them more than I would ebay.

I went to BestBuy and picked up a 160GB Classic for $228 last week. I also had $10 in BB certificates so it brought my price down to $218.

I already have two iPhones and have always had a regular click wheel iPod in addition to the iPhones. Nothing beats being able to have my entire music collection with me. Mine is now 102GB and growing.
