I search for "Bandwidth monitor" turned up nothing (I was surprised), if there is a better name for this type of application, please let me know.

In my area my internet connection choices are dialup, and Satellite.
Thus we have SkyBlue satellite through DirectTV.

Satellite being what it is, we have insanely low bandwidth usage caps, even at the highest option, of 17gb in a rolling 30 day period. Sadly (and prodictably) the only tool to "track" ones own usage is through a website monitor that tells you waht percentage of your bandwidth you have used, without any sort of daily report. We think their monitor is highly inaccurate, but with 4 computers at home, it's hard to tell.

Activity monitor will track network usage since last startup, but this is not limited to internet traffic (iTunes streaming gets added), not is it helpful for keeping a 30 day running total.

Can anyone suggest an application better suited to this purpose? Surely I'm not the only one that wants to track this sort of information :)

Thanks for any pointers or tips.
Cheers,

Thanks a bunch!
I've been trying out Surplus Meter the past 48 hours, and it seems to be a pretty good app for what I want. At least, it's far better than anyhting else I've come across so far.
