I've been a dedicated Evernote user since 2009, but it takes forever to open runs so slow on my MBA. I just chatted with them, and not only are they not working on an M1 version. They have no plans to do so.

So I need to find a replacement. Requirements are:
  • M1 Native
  • Clients for iPad, Android, and Windows
  • Automatic Sync
  • Ability to send/import content from other apps
  • Ability to organize notes in the equivalent of Stacks, Notebooks, etc.

In other words... I need a universal version of Evernotes! Is there a good alternative out there that has similar features but is M1 native?

Thanks!

Microsoft OneNote supports all the platforms you mentioned and is ARM native.

Notion seems to tick all the boxes. Plus, it's free for personal use! Anyone have any personal experience with it?

Have you looked at Bear?

A few years back, I switched from evernote to simplenote and have been very happy with it since then. It is quite basic though.

Bear looks great, but it appears to be Apple only. I need Android and Windows clients as well. I'd prefer not to be dependent upon web access. Thanks for the suggestion though!

Simplenote (at least the latest version on Github) is Intel based (not M1 optimized). Otherwise, it looks promising. Thanks for suggesting it though!
