Help! I am trying to view a golf video and I keep getting a popup saying "the page I am trying to open has content of MIME type "application/x-mplayer2." I have a Mac operating system and my web browser is Safari. Can anyone help me?

flip4mac

whats the website address for the golf video?

try Flip4Mac which will install QuickTime codecs and internet plug-ins to allow you to view windows media.

Hi...I did try flip4mac, but it didn't work very completely. the website video of myself taking my lesson is what I want to view. The website is www.golftec.com
I don't know that this will help you though, but any help my way will be appreciated.
Thanks,
Liza Sarinsky

Perian http://perian.org/ will handle all the necessary codecs and more. By far, has the greatest support for the major codecs out there.

Perian does not include internet plug-ins. Flip4Mac is the only set of internet plug-ins that could work besides flash, shockwave and real player which arent it.

this page shows that application/x-mplayer2 is Windows media so if Flip4Mac cant play it then you may not be able to play it on a Mac. Liza you may have to play it in Internet Explorer.

Thanks for your help..

I appreciate your help. I guess I will have to speak to the company about this issue and see if they have a solution.
How is Aussie land?

Perian worked!

Aussieland is radical. the mercury is finally below 35C (95F)... Hooray!

good luck :)

I installed Perian and it worked! I can now view the golf lesson without problems. I was surprised too. But hey I will try anything to see these lessons.
95 is pretty Hot!!! Florida gets hot in the summer, but it's no more than 91, but the humidity is real high too!

well done! im suprised Perian worked. did you view it in Safari/Firefox or download the video and watch it in QuickTime?

it gets hot but its also very dry so we just stay in air conditioned houses until it cools down. raining now! we need it!

I believe..not sure...I viewed it in quicktime. I just go to the website and it opens up....how do you know if it's quicktime? I have to access the website through safari...so maybe that is it?
