I was advised by the Apple store that I need not worry about spy/virus intrusion issues on my Mac mini. However, do I need to worry about spy and virus intrusion when activating the Parallel program and using the Windows XP side of my Mac mini .... i.e., similar to the threats that I had to protect against on my IBM PC computer???

It is Windows after all, so yes, it'd be a good idea to get some sort of protection for XP even if you don't need it for OS X. I personally use AVG Free.
Not really. AVGFree is mostly just anti-virus (not anti-spyware or anything much else).
Unless you plan on visiting porn or do a lot of web surfing, you should be fine w/ AVGFree and keeping Windows up-to-date with the latest patches (via Windows Update). Anti-virus is mostly just belt-and-suspenders anyway; it's your online activity that makes you vulnerable.

You say you play PC games, whats a good windows partition size if i just want to install and play 1 game, battlefield 2
You wouldn't need much if you were just going to play that one game. 10 gb would be fine and it would give you extra space if you want to play other games. How big is your hard drive?
