I have read different things on several different sites in regards to getting an iPhone 3GS activated on T-Mobile prepaid. Several sites stated all you had to do was setup with the Sidekick prepaid rate plan and you'd be good to go. Other sites say T-Mobile blocked this last month. I just got a brand spankin' new still in the box 3GS and I want to set it up on T-Mobile with data, SMS and MMS only. I don't need voice on it.

What do I need to buy in terms of SIM and which plan do I need to set up with? I am looking for the three above things: data, SMS and MMS. Thanks!!

Could I ask where you got the 3GS, and how much it cost you? I'm thinking of getting an iPhone 3GS, then fake activating it and using it as an iPod touch (since the new iPod touch has no camera, microphone, etc.) without a SIM card installed. I just need to find where to get an iPhone 3GS without going with AT&T.
