When you say "DVD" is it a movie? Because if it is, iDvd is the wrong program to use. Try opening "DVD Player" and then putting in the dvd.

I get this problem as well sometimes on my MBP every now and then it will make a buzz noise a couple of times and spit the disc out. When your launching iDVD are you lauching from the dock or are you launching from the applications folder? If you can launch it from the aplications folder then remove it from the dock and then readd it. Could just be that the shortcut has died.

No iDVD

I've had the same problem. When I click on the icon, the program starts, the initial screen briefly appears and then shuts down. Tried all of the above!!
