Need help choosing small speakers for amps

Hi,

I was recently given a pair of Audiolab amps - the 8000s and the 8000p.

I plan to set up a living room system, and want to hook them up to my TV. I will also do all of my music listening on this system, and the type of music I like is relaxed rock like Radiohead, Dave Mattthews Band and similar stuff. My budget is $1500-$2000. I am temporarily moving to a foreign country, and want to try to get small speakers so I can ship them back to my home country when I move, so size definitely matters.

Anyone know these amps, and able to give me some recommendations that works with my budget and the stuff I will be listening to? From my own research it seems like most comments about these amps say they produce netural/clean/sterile sounding audio, and need to be paired with speakers with a bit of character, if that helps.

Funny, the PSB Imagine was exactly what I came on here to post. It's a fantastic little speaker. Of course, if you can keep your budget where it is, the 5-1/4" woofer of the Synchrony Two B will give you a little more bass extension.

I have Mordaunt Short MS10 speakers powered by a 140w a channel Yamaha M45 power amp. I bought these at a garage sale and offered what i thought was a fair price to both me and the owner- $70. I'm sure if I had off much less it would have been accepted.

I can't really fault these for the price. They sound better to me than the Rogers LS3/5Aa i used before and these sell second hand for considerably more.

What do you plan to use for a source?

I have these in a 5.1 config with an Arcam AVR 350, bi-amped with an Arcam P35-3. Some of the best monitors you can buy (IMO). I'd definitely second
this recommendation. I've had mine for about 5 years, but I expect them to last me another 15 years, and I upgrade everything - a lot!
