I would like to know what kind of Fan speeds others are seeing. My Quad 2.5 with 7800GT seems to be noisier than usual. Most of the noise seems to be coming from the slots intake Fan which seems pegged at 1560 RPM. Wondering if this is normal results would be greatly appreciated.

Download istat Pro here to record Fan Speed and temps. Really great widget BTW.

Also 1560. Unlike all the other fans and the 2 CPU pumps, it doesn't seem to change rpm regardless of activity. In my quad, the loud fan is definitely the one on the 7800GT. If I didn't have that, this would be a very quiet machine.

I have the 7800GT as well. Perhaps it is the GPU fan that is making the most noise. I wonder if type of GPU affects the slot intake fans as well.

Quad, 4 GB RAM (4 x 1 GB non-ECC), GeForce 7800 GT, 2 x 250 GB HD

Uptime about 1 hour, done nothing CPU/GPU intensive.

(got problems uploading images at the moment... I will post my iStatPro Temps/Fans asap)
Slots intake: 1560 rpm

I usually run around 1073 or so - and I was upto 1350 when I was at 400% cpu usage running for 5 hours straight rendering an animation. I hardly hear the thing - my MiniG fan is the only noise since I don't have the G4s on anymore :D

8 Gigs RAM and the 7800 as well

Weird that yours is running so high....

1073 RPM for your slot intake fan. That sounds great to me. Anyhow I stopped the Fan on my 7800GT and it definitely is the loudest fan on my machine. I wonder if something is wrong with my GPU. The machine was never this noisy before.
