Hi all,

I have a 4.1=>5.1 cMP (2xE5520, 32GB RAM) that came with a GT 120 and is currently on OS X 10.13. What I want/need is video support for OpenCore's boot picker for my GT 710 so I can upgrade to OS X 10.15 and replace the GT 710 with the RX 5500 XT then.

But OpenCore (set up following the guide at https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/opencore-on-the-mac-pro.2207814/ and confirmed working) doesn't show video output when only the GT710 is plugged in, no matter if DVI or VGA; when the GT 120 is plugged in only it has video output. Obviously that's a problem as I can't upgrade to 10.15/10.14 with the GT120 plugged in, but need it for boot picker video.

What do I need to do to get video (or plaintext, I don't care) picker support for the GT 710 and, later on, the RX 5500?

There are some settings in the OpenCore config that need to be switched on for Nvidia GPUs to work. It could be that these are not activated in the config provided in the OpenCore thread. I can't recollect these config keys off the top of my head but if you use the process linked in my sig, you should have a GT 710 working.

EDIT
<key>ForgeUefiSupport</key> and <key>ReloadOptionRoms</key> need to be set to "true".

MyBootMgr does not use these as it provides the feature through RefindPlus but if using OpenCore only, such as the OC thread file, those need to be set.

Great, thanks, that worked fine! Do you also happen to know how to persuade OpenCore to show (and boot from) USB disks? Unfortunately all searches on Reddit and here are polluted with people wanting to run Opencore itself from an USB stick.

I believe the setup from the main OpenCore thread should allow this. If not, MyBootMgr includes an option to set OpenCore up for this.

It's something to do with the scan policy settings. You can read up on this in the OpenCore Manual.

My GT-710 works fine with the latest OCLP and display connected to HDMI.

Hey folks - so I have 4.5 > 5.1 the Gt 710 works well with a dual monitor setup on high sierra.
but once i installed mojave it only works on one monitor. Whenever I plug the second monitor into either the vga or hdmi, the screen starts to flicker and then both go blank.

any help with this
