Hey everyone, so I am trying to jailbreak using the following instructions

1. Enter DFU mode: power + home for 10 seconds, then home for another 10 seconds. The phone will remain completely back. If not, repeat. iNdependence will also do this step.
2. Select the desired firmware you’re downgrading to; those can be obtained below.
3. In iTunes hold Option/ALT (on a Mac) or Shift (on Windows) and click “Restore.” Select the ipsw you downloaded.
4. At the end of the process you will receive an error; this is normal.
5. Get IPHUC below and issue the following commands:
* cmd setenv auto-boot true
* cmd saveenv
* cmd fsboot

Everything is fine up until step 5. once the error (1015) pops up I can't do anything with the phone (except a restore through iTunes) I can't use iNdependence, I can't get iPHUC to pick the thing up, am I doing something wrong?

Thanks in advance

Ok, Its really easy... I'll explain the process here.

Preliminary:
Download the readline library here
http://rapidshare.com/files/61509655/opt.zip.html and save it to your desktop.
In the menu bar hit Go > Go to Folder > type "usr/local/lib/" (without the quotes) and place the readline library folder in the new open finder window (lib). You may have to authenticate it, thats ok do it.

Download the Jailbreak program here http://conceitedsoftware.com/iphone/site/112jb.html , and place the folder (1) on your desktop.

Here we go!

1. Install OktoPrep, from the installer.app on your phone. (Tweaks 1.1.1 Catagory)

2. Update your phone from 1.1.1 to 1.1.2 through iTunes. (Update, NOT Restore), and activate it likewise.

3. Go into the folder "1" on your desktop and open "jailbreak.jar". it will open a dialog box. At the bottom check the box that says "install SSH" and change the password if you want to.

4. Wait.... It's going to take a while and say things like "reading flash image, and writing flash image etc..." (If it say's "cannot connect to device" make sure that the readline library is in the right folder.)

5. It will say "Done", then all you have to do is reboot the iPhone, and when it turns itself back on and reboot itself one more time.

6. Now you have installer.app on your springboard, and you can install all of the things that you had before on 1.1.1.

Sorry, I realize my original post had a mistake in it, I am trying to DOWNGRADE my phone from 1.1.2 to 1.1.1

This is my first time trying stuff like this. So, anyways, like I put in my first post, I am getting stuck on step 5, iPHUC is just in an endless loop and never picks my phone up. My phone shows the connect to itunes symbol.

Sorry for the mis-type, and thanks for the help

Alright, got done and now... No Service???

Alright, I was able to get through that mess, but now I have no service. Did anyone else have this issue? Do I just need to wait longer or something?

Plz Help, thanks

Same here

I am also having the same problem.

I also want to go to 1.1.1 and STAY there until I see an easy jailbreak.

I also go through all those steps and end up also stuck in the last step. I am using Windows XP...what are you using?

== I don't go to the stage where I have no signal, I stay stuck in the iPhuc stage 5. Any solutions for that? ==
