So recently I got an iMac and I put in an SSD (I know what to do, done it a few times.) Anyway I took out the SSD and put back the other one but no dice. I am thinking the two ribbon connectors are maybe a problem or perhaps the entire lcd won’t work. It sucks because it powers on fine with no issue but is just a black screen. I even tried a different display cable from another Mac but it didn’t work? It’s black and the display won’t run on now. Has anyone had this happen? Is my lcd dead or the lcd power ribbon the more likely culprit. I got this for 300 in great shape (2-weeks should.) but it’s just not working now.
super annoying as any lcd replacement costs $250-300. 🤦‍♂️

What year iMac do you have? And the best things to do would be to first check the diagnostic lights with the LCD plugged in, and to see if the 4th light turns on - if it does turn on, it is an issue with the backlight, else it is to do with either the LCD or the connection to the LCD.
Most likely culprit would be the LCD cable going into the logic board.
