I have an iMac and a time capsule and I want to plug my ethernet into my iMacand use internet sharing and then use my time capsule as a booster so I have get a signal anywhere in the house.

how do I set it up as a booster?

im kind of confused, where is your imac getting internet access from? wireless?

I would just use the time capsule stand alone to boost the signal.
you open airport utility, click on the time capsule you want to extend, enter in your current wireless network information, click extend the range of this network and be good to go.

then you can plug your imac into the time capsule via ethernet that way but if your wireless signal is already boosted doesnt particularly make sense to me, unless of course im missing something?

i have an ethernet from my modem into my time capsule and a ethernet from the time capsule to my iMac.

I want a ethernet from modem to iMac and then internet share ethernet connection to airport and then use my time capsule as a booster.

In Airport Utility there is the option for the time capsule to "Create a wireless network", or "Extend a wireless network". You want the latter.
