I feel like I went to the worst iPhone/iPad screen repair place possible. Dropped off my iPad Pro 12.9 inch on January 8th. Still don’t have it yet.. they called today saying that they Are waiting on a new home button.. well.. I know that you can’t unhook Touch ID and get it back working.. soooo. They proceed to tell me that I can take it to Apple to get them to renable it.. but why would Apple enable it when I know they refuse to work on products with after market parts.
I refused to take the product without it in A the condition I left it in. Or completely fixed. Am I right. Or wrong?

And I know I’m wrong for not going to Apple in the first place

Yeah I don’t really know what you can do, but that is very poor business practice. I’d recommend asking the repairer to replace the device if they’ve made detrimental changes without your consent. If they deny you could threaten to go to the BBB.

Sounds to me the 3rd party repair place is unable to fix your device and want you to take it to Apple.

Your best bet is to have them put the original parts back on so Apple will maybe fix it.

Please like kiosks in malls could care less what BBB say about them as 99% never check.
