Hi there. Is there any was to recover the data from my from without doing a full wipe and restore of the phone. I never connected it to iTunes as the cord that came with the phone was a c to lightning and I didn't understand the risk. I disable the option to erase after 10 failed passcode attempts and enabled Face ID. However, I was out of town and needed my phone and Face ID wasn't working and phone was asking for my passcode. Terrible brain fog day and in desperate need of use of the phone and no clue of the risk of complete lock out so kept trying as I was sure the act of inputing it would trigger a moment of clarity and I'd remember my passcode. NOPE! Sadly had I known the risk I never would have continued and truly wish Apple would put a warning to say you have 1 last attempt or something so at least then I'd know to stop. Anyhoo....I called Apple and they told me to connect to iTunes so I went out and bought a certified cord (bought a cheap one first and that didn't work..lol) and my phone still isn't recognized by iTunes. I used the cloud for everything but pics as I had too many pics to back up and not so sure about app data either. Is there a way to check to see if I was doing cloud back up. I do have Apple Music but I don't think that helps me as far as back up goes. I do realize I wasn't the smartest so telling me I was a dope isn't new to me. lol

Any help appreciated in ways to retrieve data off phone so I can restore it after I wipe it. Thanks

Restore the phone as new or take it to an Apple store with proof of purchase and they will help you restore the phone..

Apple Support told me to restore the phone but I don't want to lose all the data and iTunes also doesn't recognize the phone as it's locked. Apple support never gave me this option but it appears you are correct. Thank you. The closest Apple store near me is 4 hours away but I decided to call them and they did say I could bring it in with receipt and they may be able to unlock and save the data. However they said that sometimes an outside data software recovery service is needed. I made an appt for next week and will hope for the best.
