Need Help: MacBook requires login to go to myspace login page

When I type www.myspace.com into my Safari Browser window, I get a Safari drop down that says to view this area you need to log in to area DI-64. Your password will be sent in the clear.
I used to be able to hit cancel and the website would pop up. i got the same drop down intermittently through my session and could just hit cancel and continue. It won't work with my myspace password and when I hit cancel now the webaddress comes up with the address: http//192.168.0.1:80/block.htm and it won't reload without the dropdown coming up and stopping my browsing.
Either way I can't get to myspace. I'm in iraq deployed and get a lot of traffic from family and friends on myspace and would really like to get back to it.

Can anyone help?

I believe that is a router's home address, meaning that it is trying to block the website.

It's most probably being blocked by the router (kind of like what they do at schools so you can't access myspace/youtube etc). If it is, there might be some kind of proxy that lets you bypass the security procedures. BUT it would go against your ISP terms and conditions (which Im assuming you get from your base...).

Looks like DoD has blocked Myspace along with Youtube due to network traffic concerns.

US forces Korea commander, General BB Bell, released a memo indicating that the Department of Defense will put the kibosh on this practice, blocking US military portals that provided military personnel access to YouTube, MySpace and 11 other popular sites. According to the memo released by Bell, the policy is being implemented to protect secure information and to reduce the drag on the military’s computer system:

“This recreational traffic impacts our official DoD {Department of Defense} network and bandwidth ability, while posing a significant operational security challenge,” the memo said.

Thanks for the quick replies

That relieves me a bit. I thought I had a glitch with my MAC. It has been awesome for the deployment over 13 months of problem free operation. I'm on a commercial feed, so I'll have to check and see if it was blocked. Worked two days ago so I'll check on it.
