MB 1,1-7,1 Need help making a 10.7 recovery USB

Hey there

Previously talked about how my MacBooks SSD flopped on me.

I tried burning the DMG of the Lion installer to a USB, as well as following the OpenCore guide to making a bootable USB. Neither of which have seemed to work with getting it to show up in boot options. Any help?


(My only available machine is Windows by the way)

What model and year is your MBP. You maybe able to use Internet Recovery to boot into macOS

How to reinstall macOS - Apple Support

You can use macOS Recovery, your computer's built-in recovery system, to reinstall the Mac operating system. Reinstalling macOS doesn't remove your personal data.

Inside the downloaded DMG, you'll find the InstallESD.dmg file. I not care about finding a Windows program to open/extract from DMG.

Just to clarify here -- Internet Recovery is only on 2011 Mac models and later (extended to some 2010 Macs with a firmware update).
Not available on any 2006 Mac.
