I need some help on how to cut parts of songs (AACs) and then convert those parts to WAV format. The I am going to put them on my cell phone.

try using the "sound studio" application that is included with most macs (i think... it came with me imac)
you should be able to import anything quicktime can play and i know you can export to wav...

enjoy your new ringtone,

Sound Studio Works

Sound Studio is the way to go, my phone (Nextel) requires specialized sound settings that many MP3/AAC to WAV cannot manage. SS works great.

As previously suggested I’ve used Quicktime to simply convert to .wav

Does anyone know;
a) How to save as .midi from Quicktime. It’s supposed to be able to but the options not there when I’ve tried.
b) Once I’ve saved a .midi file on my ibook how to get to a nokia 6610i
c) If there’s another way to achieve this I should be trying.

???
