I need to find software that will allow me to transfer my mp3 files on my iPad back to my PC (hard drive crashed). Cant see my mp3 files on iTunes, or when enabling network sharing to the PC. Again, this is about recovering my music collection to my PC after having to replace the hard drive.

Note: these mp3s were ripped from my old CD collection. Not obtained illegally.

I keep a backup copy of my purchased mp3s in cloud storage for restore access

I would download iMazing https://imazing.com/guides/what-data-is-included-in-an-ios-backup

It will allow you to backup your iPad for free. After the backup, I would move the music files from the backup location to your iTunes library on your PC.
Hi,

Gregorio here from iMazing. It's important to understand that the music library is NOT included in iOS / iPadOS backups. Apple's logic here is that the library is already on the host computer, and is usually re-synced after a backup restore. So you won't be able to move music files outside of the backup location - there simply aren't any in there.

What you'll need is iMazing's Music export tool. It can rebuild an iTunes / Music music library, or just extract all your music from your iPad to a folder on your computer or external drive. Here are the relevant guides:

Transfer music from an iPhone, iPad, or iPod to iTunes or Music
Transfer music from an iPhone, iPad, or iPod to your Mac or PC computer

Music transfer requires a license, but you can try a few tracks for free before you commit. Simply download and install iMazing from https://imazing.com/download - no registration required.
