Well im in a situation which is probably a no brainer but still want people's advice
Im planning to install Windows XP (cuz i think vista str8 up blows right now) onto my Macbook pro with Boot camp. What i hear is that you can partition your hard drive. well it says 160gb but of course i only have 148gb and already only have 111.5gb free. I plan to use the Mac side for EVERYTHING else BUT gaming, and on the windows side i plan to play games. CS, BF2, Wc3,WOW, normal but not too many games, maybe 5 games installed MAX. The rest i will do on the mac side. messenging.browsing, everything else.
So how should i partition my hard drive and what do you recommend?

should i do a 70/70, 40/100, 50/90- With those numbers the Mac side has the more space

But with all that said what should i do?
And what are the bennifits of making it half/half 70/70 or do what else is out there?

Thank you for your time.

Also input any other tips im new to bootcamp/XP

Edit***

For got to mention. Does installing Boot Camp Slow or comprimise my Mac OSX performance?

And do you recommend XP or Vista now that Vista is out?

I'd say give windows 30 or 40GB, if the games take up 5GB each, then that's 25GB, plus the operating system which is a GB or two, that comes out to about 27GB.

I installed XP on a 20GB partition and use it only for games. Aside from taking up 20GB of space it doesn't affect my MBP at all (I don't notice it going any slower). Most of the time I run a different XP in parallels anyway. Just give it enough space so that you can install as many games as you want. I put most of the no-cd cracks in my games so I don't have to stick the CD's in. Other than that XP works great (it's all I have so that is what I used :p)

No, Boot Camp does not slow down OS X. And I'd recommend XP, there are just too many incompatibilities with Vista and it actually makes games run a bit slower than XP.
